Richest in Britain now 100 times better off than poorest

The Guardian discusses the findings from the report An Anatomy of Economic Inequality in the UK, published today, which shows that the richest 10% of the population are 100 times better off than the poorest 10%.

Harriet Harman, minister for women and equality, said that many people will find these results “shocking” and said that the issues raised mean that the government needs to “sustain and step up” action action that has been introduced over the past 13 years, such as children’s centres and tax credits, and that it “takes generations to make things more equal”.
