We try to ensure that all aspects of our business match our values in terms of practicing in an ethical and responsible way towards not just our employees and candidates, but to the wider communities in which we operate.
We donate 5% of Backstop’s pre-tax profit to grassroots projects that support vulnerable children and adults, by means of both cash and gifts ‘in kind’, such as voluntary work.
Fairbridge works with young people aged 13-25 that other organisations find difficult to engage – giving them the motivation, self-confidence and skills they need to change their lives. We have taken part in the following fundraising and voluntary activities with Fairbridge:
- Our Recruitment Manager hosted a training day for a group of young people aimed at developing their presentation and interview skills. We hope to provide work experience placements for those we see potential in to provide them with a valuable foot on the employment ladder. Read the blog here
- Our Recruitment team volunteered for Fairbridge’s Community Sports Leadership Award and provided the young people with a team of willing participants for them to use to gain their awards. View blog
- We hosted a fundraising raffle for Fairbridge at our annual Summer event
We offer a yearly employee voluntary scheme open to all our staff. The scheme allows our employees to take time off work to help on a range of voluntary projects from conservation, to developing young people’s skills, as well as helping to get the unemployed back into work. The schemes give many charities the opportunity to receive valued help and support from our staff.
Many of our Backstop team members have experience in probation, youth justice or social work
