When we take a brief for a temporary practitioner, be it for temporary social workers, temporary YOT staff or in probation, we undertake a serious and detailed search to find the right match. If we do not have suitable candidates available we will simply let you know. This page gives full details on how we source high quality temporary staff.
If you feel your team could benefit from quality temporary social workers, youth justice or probation staff sourced in this way, click here to brief us on your current requirement so that we can get on the case. Alternatively call a specialist Backstop recruitment consultant on 0844 499 3398.
All candidates have to bring the following original documents into their screening interview:
The purpose of this interview is to ensure that a temporary candidate’s experience matches up to their CV. They are asked 10 questions applicable to their area of work so we can test their knowledge. This enables us to find areas for development and discuss which area of practice for which they would be most suitable. For example temporary social work staff are quizzed on their Children’s Act knowledge and all undergo a Warner interview.
From the CV and interview process we are able to list a temporary candidate’s attributes so they are searchable from our database. Amongst Youth Justice locums for example, attributes may include court experience or work with substance misusers.
More importantly though due to our specialisation we have a “feel” for them and what they want and where they will excel. This means that when we receive your vacancy you can be sure that any candidate that we forward will match your team’s requirements.
