Backstop Mission Statement

Our mission statement

Our aim is to encourage excellent practice within criminal justice by running an innovative and ethical business that listens to needs and provides a range of effective and personalised support services.

Backstop was founded in 2001 to provide people and support services specifically to the criminal justice sector. The company was set up by a qualified youth justice practitioner determined to incorporate social work values into the company ethos and practice. Our guiding principle is to provide the best possible practitioners and support services to any organisation that we work with. We know that by doing this we can positively make a difference to the life of a person going through the criminal justice system.

This principle is instilled in everyone working at Backstop, and informs everything that we do. Thus as a manager you can be sure that when you contact us we will only provide you with practitioners and services that fit our mission. And as a practitioner you can be confident that as well as understanding your desire for remuneration that places an appropriate financial value on your skills and experience, we also understand the core values that drive you.
