This will be of most interest as a short term solution: -When a rush of unexpected reports comes into the office, and you are unable to allocate any more to the report writers in your team. -As emergency cover for key staff during holiday periods, sickness or maternity leave, when it is impractical to take on more staff. -For situations where, for whatever reasons, a lack of trust has become a hindrance to effective practice between the team and the young person or their family, and an impartial outside view is sought. Back to top How the service works Manager contacts Backstop with referral details for the report Backstop contacts freelance writer Writer contacts YOT for further details of the case. An interview date with the young person is set up at the YOT, or custodial facility. Interview takes place, the asset is completed, and as necessary the DTO booking form and a CPO assessment. Once completed the PSR is e-mailed to a nominated team member to be Quality Assured (gate kept). Once corrections are agreed report is copied at YOT ready for court. Back to top Cost For the one off report service each report will be charged at a flat rate of £200 plus VAT. The exceptions to this will be reports where the due date is less than 10 working days from Backstop being notified, or where travel outside London or to a custodial facility is required. These will normally be charged at £250 plus VAT except where long distances for interviews are required where the rate will reflect the journey time.
