Restorative Justice Processes

Get your team confident with restorative justice

Why isn’t the modern justice system working? Should non violent criminals be dealt with in the same way as violent offenders? And why is it that 50% of prisoners detained in the UK are re-offenders?

Restorative justice (RJ) is a process which works with offenders, victims and the community to find a solution by working together during the rehabilitation process. Backstop encourages and supports this and offers YOT restorative justice training to provide a common sense understanding for criminal justice professionals loosing faith in our current system.

Our restorative justice programmes develop professionals working with victims of crime in the community and promote the use of restorative justice in the criminal justice system.

Restorative justice training will include restorative youth justice training. The YOT restorative justice course will give staff and managers tools to act the confidence.

Our restorative justice programmes offer CJS professions a chance to gain:
  • A grounding in the principles of RJ and victim awareness
  • An enhanced understanding of RJ and victim involvement processes
  • A skillset of enabling teams to work effectively and professionally with victims in the community

We have Backstop courses bespoke to your needs and offer a one day introduction course or full three day course for professionals who seek comprehensive restorative justice training. The costing is negotiable and is subject to the number of attendees as well as their individual requirements.

Our restorative justice courses guarantee a unique level of expert training. For more information view our Backstop trainers page.

For further information on our restorative justice courses or any of our YOT training courses call 020 8394 7629, or email us and we will contact you to discuss your requirements.

“The Home Office inspectorate …graded
the victim work and associated restorative
justice practice as “exemplary”…Glasgow
visited Enfield Youth Offending Service
during my time there as the manager
and elected to adopt the Enfield style of
Restorative Justice as their preferred model,
nationally. Mark must and should take credit
for much of these achievements.”
