Make sure your team can recognise and work with Aspergers and Autism

Total course length: 1 day introductory or 2 day advanced
Cost from: £negotiable, subject to number of attendees - all courses can be tailored to the requirements of individual teams and agencies
Suitable for: All Criminal Justice Practitioners

Trainer: Sarah Hendrickx

"Sarah’s training was pitched at the right level. Sarah listened to the groups needs, and ensured that they received suitable and practical information… she paid attention to how the course was progressing and used appropriate learning styles throughout"
Julie Hassall, Consultant, Working Links, July 2007

The sessions are interactive with a number of activities designed to put living with AS and autism into context. It is an informal, flexible and informative session. There is plenty of time for group work and sharing of experiences and discussions as this is a valuable part of any learning.

Aim:
•    To extend knowledge of AS/autism and its characteristics
•    To provide opportunities for understanding the world from the perspective of someone with AS/autism through discussion and exercises
•    Identify the implications and barriers for individuals with AS/autism
•    To understand how AS may affect an individual’s interaction with the CJ system
•    Outline strategies for support
