Meet your training contacts at Backstop Iman Iman joined Backstop as Training Co-ordinator, having previously worked in the youth and criminal Justice sectors. Iman completed her Masters degree in Criminal Justice Policy in 2003 specialising in youth justice and policing whilst volunteering in a central London YOT. She then worked with young people as a Personal Adviser at Connexions, supporting excluded teenagers into employment and training opportunities. She then went on to work in research within YOTs and police forces as a researcher and project consultant working on projects funded by the Home Office and Youth Justice Board. She brings sound working knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system, from both academic and practitioner perspectives, to the expanding Backstop Training and Consultancy service which she currently developing. Iman is the primary point of contact for clients and trainers, taking care of the day to day management of bookings and enquiries, as well as promoting our thriving Training and Consultancy service. Janet Thorne manages the strategic side of the company finances as well as the training service. She is also the mother of the company mascot Megan who entered the world a few days before Backstop. janet@backstop.org.uk Chiatulah Is rated by many sources as one of the best Diversity and Race Equality trainers in the UK, as well as being a Training Manager at Backstop. For most of the 1990s he was a Groupwork Probation Officer at the Camberwell Probation Centre in the former Inner London Probation Service (ILPS), specialising in BME Offender and Cognitive Behavioural groups. Chiatulah ran ove r 500 BME offender group sessions and wrote the most influential handbook in this field. His unique level of experience and empowering training style has led to an ever increasing demand for his skills as a trainer and consultant from criminal justice agencies nationwide. He has delivered training packages to over 2000 staff in Youth Offending and Probation teams to date so really knows his training techniques and what makes for good courses and trainers chiatulah@backstop.org.uk
