Backstop is committed to providing highly relevant and empowering consultancy and YOT training courses within the criminal justice field. Our aim is to promote excellent practice by carefully designing YOT training to meet your specialist needs, and, where appropriate, to satisfy the Youth Justice Board’s Principles of Effective Practice and the Quality Assurance framework.

All our YOT training and criminal justice consultants are:
• assessed and screened by us and subject to ongoing course by course evaluation
• experts in their fields and bring a wealth of experience in their own specialism to their training.
• skilled in the design and delivery of training and consultancy and share a commitment to our high standards of service

We offer a free 40 minute telephone consultation on any of our topics so that you can establish if the topic meets your needs and even ask expert trainers for advice click here to send an email request for a free consultation - remember to state the training topic that interests you!

How we deliver:
We provide training and consultancy in-house to YOTs, consortia or other multi-agency groups. This is very cost effective, tailored to your specific requirements and allows greater individual attention. An initial consultation is free of charge.
We also run “public” courses in specialist topics which have been developed specifically to meet the needs of practitioners and the YJB Quality Assurance framework.

All members of the backstop training team have experience in Youth Offending Teams, Probation or Youth Work and so will have a full understanding of your training requirements
